Receipt Vault — Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 11, 2026 · Last updated: May 11, 2026

Receipt Vault ("the app") is developed and operated by Karya Boyraz as an independent iOS application. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles, where it stays, and what choices you have.

TL;DR

Receipt Vault is a 100% local app. We do not run a backend server. We do not collect, transmit, or share your data. Your receipts, warranties, and analytics live on your device, period.

What data the app stores on your device

All of the above is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework inside your app sandbox. We have no access to it.

What we do not collect

Camera access

The app asks for camera permission only when you tap "Scan receipt with camera". The camera feed is processed entirely on your device by Apple's Vision OCR framework. Scanned images stay in your app sandbox alongside the receipt. We never upload, transmit, or share them.

In-App Purchases

Pro tier ($4.99) and Pro + Cloud tier ($9.99) are processed by Apple's StoreKit. Apple may collect transaction information per Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive only the entitlement (verified purchase) — no payment details ever reach us.

iCloud Sync (Pro + Cloud)

The Pro + Cloud tier (when activated in a future release) uses Apple's CloudKit private database in your own iCloud account. Synced data never touches our servers — it is encrypted end-to-end between your devices via Apple's infrastructure. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in iOS Settings.

Children's privacy

Receipt Vault is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. There is nothing to collect — see above.

Data retention and deletion

Because everything is local, deleting Receipt Vault from your device deletes everything. You can also delete individual receipts or warranties from the app itself (long-press → Delete).

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what data the app handles, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect it. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
