Receiply ("the app", listed on the App Store as "Warranty Tracker — Receiply" and formerly called Receipt Vault) is developed and operated by Karya Boyraz as an independent iOS application. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles, where it stays, and what choices you have.
Receiply has no backend server and no account. We (the developer) do not collect, receive, or share your receipts, warranties or other personal data; the app only sends anonymous usage statistics (see below). In the free version and in Pro, your receipts and warranties stay on your device. If you buy Pro + Cloud, they are also synced to the private iCloud database of your own Apple ID, which is stored by Apple and which we cannot access.
All of the above is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework inside your app sandbox. Warranty reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device, and receipts may be added to the on-device Spotlight index so you can find them from iOS search. We have no access to any of it.
To understand how the app is used and improve it, the app sends anonymous usage events to the developer's own server (hosted on Cloudflare): when a session starts and ends, its duration, and the names of screens or features used. Each event is tied only to a random identifier created when the app is installed, plus the app version and device language. The country is derived from the connection on the server; IP addresses are not stored. No name, email, Apple ID, advertising identifier or app content (receipts, warranties, images) is ever included. This data is not linked to your identity, not used for advertising or tracking, never sold or shared, and kept for at most 24 months. Deleting the app deletes the random identifier.
The app asks for camera permission only when you tap "Scan receipt with camera". The camera feed is processed entirely on your device by Apple's Vision OCR framework. Scanned images are stored with the receipt in your app sandbox (and, with Pro + Cloud, in your private iCloud database as described below). They are never sent to us or to any third party.
Pro tier ($4.99) and Pro + Cloud tier ($9.99) are processed by Apple's StoreKit. Apple may collect transaction information per Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive only the entitlement (verified purchase) — no payment details ever reach us.
If you buy Pro + Cloud, your receipts, receipt images and warranties are synced to the private CloudKit database of your own iCloud account. This database belongs to your Apple ID: Apple stores it, and we (the developer) cannot see, access or export it. Apple encrypts iCloud data in transit and on its servers, but this data is not end-to-end encrypted by default. See Apple's iCloud data security overview for how Apple protects it.
In the free version and in Pro (without Cloud), the app does not sync your data to iCloud; it stays on your device. This applies from version 1.1.7. In versions up to 1.1.6, if iCloud was turned on for the app on your device, the app's database could be mirrored to your private iCloud database regardless of the tier you had. That copy is also in your own iCloud account only and can be deleted as described below.
You can stop iCloud sync at any time by turning off iCloud for the app in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
Receiply is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Anonymous usage statistics described above contain no personal information.
You can delete individual receipts or warranties from the app itself (long-press → Delete); with Pro + Cloud the deletion is synced to your iCloud as well. Deleting the app removes all data stored on that device. It does not delete data already synced to your iCloud: to remove it, open iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, select the app and delete its data. Device backups you made to iCloud or a computer are managed by Apple and may also contain the app's data. We hold no copy of your data; the anonymous usage statistics cannot be linked back to you.
If we ever change what data the app handles, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect it. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
